Hello and welcome to the NNG BLOG page from myself James Brown, the NNG Chair and from the extended NNG Steering Group alike.
A few years ago I was asked to join Nucsig working under the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) to try to inspire and encourage the next generation of profession to the nuclear sector and, more importantly, to the profession itself, as it was as clear then as it is now that there is a shortage of quality professionals in industry.
As a passionate quality professional and with the quote “Quality is an investment in the future” given to me by one of my mentors ringing in my ears, I of course agreed to take a role with NucSIG and have since set up the Nuclear Next Generation (NNG) to try to promote the profession to you guys: the next generation.
We as a group have huge passion for Quality and to ensure that the message and profession are kept strong, well received and clearly understood. So moving forward, the NNG aim to inspire the next generation to join the Quality profession and the CQI, as it is, in the end, everywhere you look from the car you drive, to the building that you work from and the food that we all enjoy.
We are supporting you all as next generation members, who may already work in the sector and the profession, to those who are not. We will be working with schools, colleges and universities to offer STEM Quality workshops: in the hope to spark and capture interest of others in Quality at an early age as it is something that we all feel so strongly about.
For those who have already joined and those who will do in the future, we also offer you various events to attend to expand your knowledge and give you the chance to network with other like-minded people within our industry.
